Aqua Gen Chile named Patrick Dempster (49) as Managing Director. Dempster will take over from Svein Sørvik, effective from 1 June 2010. Sorvik will enter a new position within marketing and business development at the Aqua Gen headquarter in Trondheim, Norway.

Patrick Dempster has held a number of positions in the fish farming industry. During his ten years within the AKVA group he was employed as CEO for AKVAsmart Chile, CTO for AKVA group in Norway and more recently as Managing Director Canada and North America. He has previously worked in the Chilean salmon industry as Production and Operational Manager in Salmones Multiexport.

Dempster holds a degree in agriculture engineering from the Catholic University of Chile and later a Master of Science from Stirling University of Scotland.
