AquaGen Scotland has a new opportunity to join the management team in an important, customer facing role.
Location: Stirling University Innovation Park. Working at our Dumfries office and homeworking will also be part of the work pattern. Travel within Scotland is a normal part of the work pattern, less frequent trips abroad may also be required.

AquaGen Scotland has achieved a great deal since its establishment in 2017. Following the acquisition of Holywood Breeding Centre in 2019, we have successfully developed year-round supply of salmon eggs for our Scottish customers. Our mission is to deliver tailored genetic improvement of the AquaGen strain, developing products for healthy and sustainable stock performance in the Scottish environment.
Our new Product development and support manager
The successful applicant will be an important day to day point of contact for our Scottish customers. The role will primarily support our Scottish production; however within the AquaGen Group, you will be expected to participate in marketing activities and develop relationships with our breeding and R&D departments in both Norway and Chile.
Role and responsibilities
- Product Development
- New product development
Understand and communicate our customer needs. Be a contributor to the process of targeting R&D investment and effort into new product development to best address those needs.
- Field validation
Oversee field follow up of performance of new products in the commercial environment. Produce reports and product documentation.
- Product Management
- Delivery planning and follow-up
To be responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date orders in our CRM system. Liaising with customers and our production team on changes and updates. Oversee and participate in the delivery process to contribute to effective well-controlled stocking.
- Performance documentation
Follow up stock performace from delivery to fed fry. Document and produce reports as part of our quality assurance process
To compile data across our customer base to support best performance and achievement of genetic potential.
- Market communications
- Organise and participate in meetings and seminars
- Produce technical support documents, such as product performance summaries and comparisons.
- Marketing activities
- Contribute to the Key Account Management process.
As the main customer point of contact for product supply you will gain knowledge and understanding that will help inform decision making on how best to support our customers.
Our ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in commercial salmonid aquaculture, in either a production or fish health role and be interested in a rewarding, interesting and varied role with a major global player to further their career. You will have:
- A strong collaborative and communication skill set
- A life-science degree. Knowledge and experience of breeding and genetics will be an advantage
- Experience with MS Office and working with MS Teams
- Independence and initiative. Understand the value of flexible working and be able to manage your own time effectively
- A logical and constructive approach to problem solving as part of a team
- Experience of using data in Excel
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with a team, and has an open, constructive, and positive personality.

Training will be provided as required, for the successful candidate
Independent travel is a normal part of the work pattern and a driving licence is essential.
